What is Integration?

Integration is taking two or more standard off-the-shelf items of hardware or software and gluing them together to make a desired outcome reality.

Examples:

1(a).Take an off the shelf NAS(dial-in) service from a Telco, a couple of Radius Servers and a Billing System. Make the radius servers resilient and interface them together to be a re-brandable Narrowband ISP Service. Interface the billing system to the customer's chosen Payment Method and add a Service Wrap to make it into a standalone business.

1(b). Take an off the shelf NAS(dial-in) service from a Telco, a couple of Radius Servers and interface(develop a mediation layer) to the customer's existing billing system. Develop and provide updated helpdesk scripts, add classes into existing fault reporting system. Train existing technical staff, and run wargames simulating faults to prepare for launch day. Oversee the launch and the first two months of running.
